PilatesWise is unique in this area. Class sizes are small and intimate. Every beginner will either attend a course or an initial consultation before they join a class so every new starter has a head start and can slot very well straight into a group. We teach with precision and clarity taking a therapeutic approach to our classes to ensure they fit with bespoke needs of our clients, whilst also retaining all of the fundamental principles of the classical method, and progressing our clients towards the classical repertoire safely and effectively.
We offer plenty of hands on correction and take alot of pride in what we do. Kat trains regularly with some of the worlds top teachers, attends courses and workshops and takes inspiration from many corners of the world, all of which she continues to bring to her classes, making them always interesting and varied. It is important to keep up with the latest science, techniques and move with the times, whilst retaining a clear focus on the authentic pilates method and all that entails.
The majority of our clients are local to the areas in which we teach, however, we do have some people who travel expensively to attend classes, to access the quality of teaching we have to offer.
For most, their lifestyle and/or work is affecting their fitness, health and life goals and they want to do something about it. They are men and women in their late teens, early twenties, looking to learn the best technique to exercise and remain injury free, or 35-60 yrs who want effective, high quality exercise that will future-proof their bodies for a healthy older age. We do also have a number of older movers, those who attend our Pilates for Life classes catering for more senior clients who wish to maintain a good quality of fitness and mobility during their retirement, and wanting to remain pain free.
They are people who are dealing with niggling aches, back pain, bad posture and joint stiffness.

My programmes are suitable for Men and Women and for all levels, so long you are willing to make a commitment to your fitness and well-being.
Pilates can offer many benefits such as better body and spine alignment, joint mobility and strength. It has changed many of our clients’ lives and made them feel empowered and in control of their bodies once again. These amazing things can be achieved so long you are consistent with your practice and you make it a habit. We will be there for you, to help you along the way, but ultimately you are in control of your own success.
That’s totally understandable and that’s why we offer our monthly ‘move with ease’ complimentary taster classes. I won’t tell you what I think, I’ll tell you what my clients say to me at the end of our sessions. They feel elevated, more flexible, awake and alive. They become more dynamic, stronger and more body aware the more classes they attend. They are able to catch themselves and correct their posture when they are out and about. They know what to do back pain strike but they also know that if they do their Pilates every week, the frequency of these incidents is much less. Some of them told me Pilates has changed their lives, they feel calmer, less anxious and better about themselves. So it’s down to you and how you let Pilates help you.
There is a famous quote by Joseph Pilates and I believe it to be true. He said: “In 10 sessions, you feel better, 20 sessions you look better, 30 sessions you have a completely new body.” Of course that’s only true if you commit to consistent practice and do at least 1 or 2 classes a week. If you can only attend 1 class a week that’s definitely better than not doing anything however you might reach your goals a little slower. You then ought to be prepared to commit to self practice at home.
This is your well being, your happiness. Surely it is a priority? If yes, then I know you will find the time. Our different packages and especially the online workouts that go with the group classes will ensure that you can do your Pilates almost anywhere. I always say you can make Pilates part of your daily life. if you can walk down to town, then you have time to do Pilates. If you can watch a box set, you can do pilates. If you walk the dog, you can do pilates. You can do it anywhere, anytime that suits you.
Do I need to be fit to keep up in the sessions? No – before you join a class, we will have a conversation about which class level will be the best for you to join. You are not expected to be able to touch your toes and do the splits.
You will be progressed at your own pace and abilities. Like anything new, you will need time to adjust and feel comfortable with everything but rest assured that we would never teach you exercises that are impossible, challenging yes, impossible no!
